What is ALPOA?
Our mission statement reads that we have been created to enhance the experience of living in the Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club Community, through advancement and promotion of social, educational, and entertainment activities, promoting safety and community philanthropy, as well as working in conjunction with Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club in providing funding for the construction of community projects.
In other words, we are your neighbors who want to make our little paradise even better by providing activities (July 4th parade, Murder Mystery dinners, Bingo, etc.), philanthropic donations to local groups, and providing funding for construction of projects throughout our community to enhance our wonderful world.
The dues collected allow ALPOA to provide additional value to the Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club community, with projects like improvements to the Pavilion at Outlaw. The most noticeable past projects include the ALG&CC signage and the fishing dock at The Outlaw. ALPOA also regularly contributes to local charities and the Bonito Volunteer Fire Department.
Do I have to be an Active Member? I don’t want to serve on any boards.
Absolutely not. We wish every ALGCC member would join ALPOA to help us bring the absolute best to our community! There are only 15 board member spots, and they are filled, so no, you do not need to put in any work (although we’ll gladly take volunteers for any activities that we sponsor).
Not an ALPOA Member?
Click [HERE] and scroll down to “Join ALPOA.” Your $35/property annual dues will be included on your next statement.
If you are unsure of your membership status, please check our current membership list [HERE] ….or feel free to contact an ALPOA board member. If you would like to make an additional donation, you can mail a check to: ALPOA, PO Box 499, Alto, NM 88312
Playground/Water & Sanitation District Survey
You spoke – we listened. ALPOA sent out a survey to club members asking for ideas on how we can better use the acreage acquired for the Alto Lakes Water & Sanitation District. Walking Trails was the hands-down winner in suggested ideas. Other ideas included a putt-putt mini-golf area, a general “play” area, and bocce ball. Your ALPOA board will be discussing these ideas with the ALGCC board in the future. These are projects that will be on hold until we officially install the Water & Sanitation District.
ALPOA Angels are ready to help!
ALPOA Angels are volunteers who can help you around your house with items such as adding salt to a water softener, salting a driveway, and even changing light bulbs that require climbing on a ladder.
To qualify for this volunteer help, you must be:
• a member of ALPOA
• at least 65 years old or have a physical disability or illness that would prevent you from performing these tasks.
If you would like more information on this program or want volunteer your time to help, contact Susanne Mathis at 575-686-8198 or at [email protected]. We want to help YOU!
Christmas Lights!!
Be on the lookout for an ALPOA “Christmas Light Contest” in 2024. We hope you got a chance to see some of the spectacular decorations in ALG&CC this past Christmas. We will officially sponsor the contest in 2024.
