Update on Pickleball Court Resurfacing – all courts are now resurfaced and playable!
All 8 Outlaw pickleball courts have been resurfaced and painted – and ahead of schedule. Courts 5-8 still have temporary nets, with four new permanent nets for those courts arriving at the end of June. The new surface is great, and we’ve all been enjoying the “true bounce” of the ball!
A Pickleball Pro is Coming to Outlaw!
John Allevi is a certified pickleball instructor from Las Cruces who will be coming to Outlaw to conduct clinics this summer. These 90-minute clinics will be offered for groups of 3-4 players of similar skill level. We will email the ALPA membership with details of these periodic clinics. We hope everyone will take advantage of what John has to offer!
Monday Drills are Back!
Introductory drills will begin the first Monday after Memorial Day (6/6) at 2pm at the Outlaw courts. These drills are open to anyone who is a member of ALGCC. If you’ve ever wanted to give pickleball a try, this is your chance. For those who already play the game, come out and improve your skills!
Guest Policy
ALPA membership has risen to just shy of 180 players. As our summer friends start returning, our courts get very crowded on ALPA open play days. This really is a good problem to have, however, we want to make sure everyone gets to enjoy our great game.
Once again, this year we'll be limiting guests on ALPA club play days between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Please, no guests on Tues., Thurs., and Sat. between our busiest hours of 9am-11am. Guests are welcome after 11am on play days, as well as the rest of the days and hours of the week. Each member can bring two guests for open play. Per our guest policy, member children under the age of 26 and grandchildren under the age of 17 can play for free. Please let the Outlaw clubhouse know you have a guest so they can charge your member number the $5 fee per guest, as applicable. Members MUST accompany their guests to the courts.
ALPA always welcomes new members. If you’re an ALGCC member, but have not joined ALPA, please come play with us on Tues., Thurs., or Sat. You can play for free twice before deciding if you want to join the club.
ALPA Annual Membership Meeting
The annual ALPA Membership Meeting will be held after open play on Saturday, 6/18, at the Outlaw Grill. A limited lunch menu will be available to members, courtesy of the ALPA Board. Elections for the two open board positions will take place at the meeting.
REMINDER: Mark your calendar! 1st Paddle and Triathlon Returning
