As winter continues, so do the cold temperatures and snow. That being said there have not been too many chances for golf. But as long as we are getting the moisture, we definitely welcome that this time of year. We look forward to the golf courses thawing out and prospering from winter moisture, and transitioning back into optimal playing shape this spring. The target date for the front nine tee box use, as well as the Alto practice range, is May 1st. Again, we appreciate your continued patience with this project.
NEW CART FLEET AT OUTLAW: As mentioned previously, we will be getting a new fleet of 60 Yamaha lithium carts at Outlaw in March/April. The following year, we will get 60 at Alto. We are excited for this transition! Our purchase agreement includes selling our current fleet to Yamaha; so, unfortunately, we are not able to sell these as we have in the past.
The Golf & Greens Commission has forwarded the ALGCC Tournament calendar, and it will go before the ALGCC Board of Directors on February 17th. Once that is approved, we will have it available to all members by way of the club website and other correspondence to you. We look forward to another fun-filled tournament season!
HANDICAP FEES: As a reminder, all annual handicap fees have been billed as of January 1st. You may have noticed the USGA increased the fee from $30 to $35 this year; clubs do not control these fees. If you are a member of one of our associations (AL9GA, ALGA, or AMGA) you are automatically billed this fee along with the respective association fee. IF YOU PLAY IN ANY ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENTS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE AN ALGCC GHIN NUMBER. All associations require this for Alto tournaments, due to our large membership and accurate tracking. Please remember, if you plan to play in any of these associations, you must also maintain your GHIN number accurately by posting all of your scores that permit. In addition, to play in any of the club’s major events, you must have a minimum of 5 scores recorded on the current calendar year.
HOLE IN ONE REPORT: We have no holes-in-one to report.
Are you in the Hole-in-One club? If you are interested, please contact Charisse Wadsworth at [email protected]. The program costs $5 per person and reloads each time a hole-in-one participant makes a hole-in-one. Each Golf Shop has a simple form to fill out should you have one. Inquire at either Golf Shop for the form.
We’re glad you’re here.
Sincerely,
John Rogers, PGA
