Congratulations to our USA Ryder Cup team!
We are all so proud of what you accomplished this week. Way to go!
Fall is officially here and we just finished our last tournament of the year – the Fall Fling. There were 18 teams of 4 ALGA members who had a great time playing in the 2-day tournament. The weather was beautiful and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to be together.
The September Border Tournament was held at Alto on September 15. Our ALGA ladies scored really well and we gained 105 points, which put us in 2nd place. Way to go, girls! Our next Border Tournament is at Sierra del Rio in T or C. This is a fun course and I encourage all of our Border members to play. Hope to see you there.
We had an Appreciation Party for the AL9GA ladies who have been so generous with their time to help us this summer. Thank you, ladies.
October is the last month for ALGA Play Days. There won’t be any play on Wednesday, October 6, as the course will be aerated. Stroke play will be on October 13th. Christmas in October will be Wednesday the 20th and finally, the Halloween Scramble will be on the 27th.
Be sure to read the ALGA newsletter sent to your email address from Denise Bowers. Denise Bowers, our Communications Chair, has given the monthly newsletter a wonderful face lift by giving it a new and improved presentation style. Each month, the newsletter will start including information from our officers and/or committee chairpersons, the financial status of each tournament, when we begin our tournaments again next year, as well as the monthly calendar, new members and any other information that you, as a member of ALGA, will need to know. Denise is also including a Classified Ad Section. If you have something you would like to advertise in this new Ad Section, email Denise with the detailed ad written out for her to place in the Section. Denise’s email is [email protected]. Thank you, Denise, for all of the thought and time you have put into this!
I hope you each have a great October enjoying a fabulous fall wherever you are. Have a Happy Halloween. BOO!!
