Spring is in the air. Our weather has been like a roller coaster lately, but hopefully we are putting winter in our rearview mirror. The ALGA will have an unofficial play day on Wednesday, April 3; we have secured five tee times starting at 9:00 am. The deadline for sign-up is Monday, April 1. Call the Golf Shop to add your name, and we will be doing the pairings on Tuesday and sending out an email to those who are playing. There will be another unofficial play day on Wednesday, April 17. The tee times for that play day will be secured two weeks in advance of the play day, and I will email the membership once the times have been secured.
Candy Brown has been working on the inserts for the 2024 ALGA Membership directories. The new inserts will be available at our first play day and available for pick-up in the Alto Golf Shop thereafter.
Our first official play day of the ALGA will be a joint step-aside scramble with the AMGA & AL9GA. Sign up two weeks in advance on the new Jonas system that Alto is implementing, or call the Golf Shop. This is a very popular event, so sign up quickly to avoid being put on a waiting list.
Laureen Zelt and Paula Sommers have been working on everything for Member/Member and Kachina. Please feel free to contact them if you have any questions about sign-up, or if you need a partner for any of these tournaments.
Lynda Waldrop, our Rules Chairperson, has signed up for some online Rules Seminars. Once season kicks in, we will have her update us on some Rules of Golf that pertain to all of us.
Our first Border was a little rough going. Thanks to Laureen Zelt and Sylvia Marcum for getting us on the board. We started off the year last year from behind and we came back with a ROAR. Looking forward to more of our Border girls getting back to town. Contact Rhonda Mclnroy with any questions.
As you can see from the above mentioned, it takes a village to run this organization. When you are one of the biggest and best in the Southwest, there are a lot of moving parts. We are always looking for volunteers and requesting some help with the raffle for Kachina. If you are interested in a position, contact me. Thank you to all of our officers, chairperson’s and members for being the BEST!!!! Looking forward to a great 2024 Season.
Kim Lagasse – President ALGA
