Sign up for the FRENCH OPEN TENNIS MIXER scheduled for Saturday, June 4 (closes on June 1).
We will have lots of French pastries and beverages for all our participants and their guests. Due to the collapse of the Outlaw Pavilion, we will have tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk for this event. The Pickleball/Tennis Commission is working with ALPOA and ALGCC to see how we can replace and improve that lost amenity.
The work to repair cracks that developed on court #1 has been completed, along with a fresh coat of paint on that surface and a new net.
The 2nd annual Triathlon has been rescheduled to July 26. The committee is working on some fun new twists to the three-sport event (tennis, pickleball and golf). Stay tuned for more information.
Tennis Tip: If you have to hit a low volley, you must play defensively. Bend your knees and hit your volley deep to the middle toward the baseline player. Keep it low so you don't give the opposing net player an easy poach. The goal is to stay in the point and get a better look at a winning volley later. A low volley between the two opponents will force them to hit up or, even better, confuse them about who should return your volley.
