Members of Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club,
Since we are now into the fall season here, the rains have decreased quite a bit and everything has dried out, compared to the rainy season.
When you drive through our community now, you will notice many properties that have very tall grass that has not been cut all year. All it would take is a cigarette, or a spark from a chainsaw or other machinery to ignite this grass. If it was on a windy day, we would have a catastrophic situation in a matter of minutes.
I really hope that everyone will take this seriously and protect your property and your neighbor's, and get your property mowed and wee-eatered, as well as cleaning up debris.
We all have considerable investments in our homes, and it is only logical that you would want to protect your investment.
The club is having to shop for a new insurance company because the current one will not renew our policy; we are considered to be in a high fire risk zone. That is how serious this is. If you do take care of keeping your property firesafe, it can reduce your premium significantly.
Remember, December 7, a representative from the US Forest Service will be here at the ALPOA meeting showing us all how to keep our property protected. Please try to attend that meeting.
Here is picture of a property that has not been cut all year and one that has been. It is very obvious the diļ¬erence; imagine the uncut property if it caught on fire and what would happen.
Everyone, please do your part to keep your property cleaned up and firesafe.
Thank You.
