Alto Men’s Golf Association
What a long, strange trip it’s been the last two years as president of the Alto Men’s Golf Association (AMGA). This line is a famous cliché today but was very true back in the 60’s and 70’s when the Grateful Dead sang about it in one of their more popular songs Truckin’. The AMGA is 526 members strong and coordinates the most prestigious golf tournament, Snowcapper, in New Mexico. It is also responsible for hosting the annual Folds of Honor golf tournament, which provides educational scholarships to American’s military families, and The First Tee golf program that teaches golf and life skills to youth golfers. Along with the bi-annual Divot Day, other fundraisers and local charities the AMGA sponsors each year you would think it would have been a great trip. The irony is the AMGA will “Just keep truckin’ on and see what tomorrow brings” with its newly elected president, Tom Fox, who will continue the great tradition of leading the largest ALGCC Association starting in November. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the AMGA Board for all its hard work, dedication, and commitment to ensuring our AMGA members have the best golf experience that ALGCC can provide.

Golf joke of the month:
The club manager was playing a round of golf with the club pro one day and after 18 holes they went into the clubhouse.
The club manager asked the pro, “What do you think of my game?”
The pro replied, “You should shorten your clubs by 1 inch.”
The club manager asked if the pro thought this would help his game.
To which the pro said,” No! It will help them fit in the trash can!”
