Parade:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Labor Day Weekend “Tribute to First Responders” parade and auction. A good time was had by all, and we raised $71,310 for fire victims.
Burgers/Brats/Bingo:
Thank you to Gracie Rheingans for another successful Burgers, Brats, and Bingo Night! We raised $5,000 for the Alto Lakes Scholarship Fund. It was a fabulous turnout!
Outlaw Pavilion:
ALPOA purchased outdoor furniture and the outdoor grill, now located at the Outlaw Pavilion. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 14 at 10:00 a.m. Refreshments will be provided. Come see the new facilities!
Thistle Season:
It is important to kill the thistles on your lot. ALPOA provides vinegar for that very reason. ALPOA has purchased a new tub of vinegar available to help members kill their thistles! The tub of vinegar is on the corner of the parking lot next to the club office. This new location will help keep the vinegar available for members and make it more difficult for landscaping companies to come fill up their large bottles.
Vinegar Info:
We have industrial strength 20% vinegar, while household vinegar is 5% vinegar (acetic acid). Handle carefully as acetic acid can burn skin. You can improve vinegar's efficacy by making an easy solution with 1 gallon of vinegar and 2 tablespoon of dish soap. Stir until everything is well combined and spray on thistles.
Bring your gallon bottles and come get some! Sincerely, Susanne Taylor Mathis, ALPOA President
