Stacy Barr’s Black Russian Cake Recipe
“This recipe was handed down to me by my Godmother. I have made this cake hundreds of times…maybe thousands!” Stacy Barr
Ingredients
Cake
1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
4 large eggs
1 scant C vegetable oil
1/4 cup Kahlúa or inexpensive coffee liqueur
1/4 cup vodka
3/4 cup water
1 t vanilla
Glaze
1/4 cup Kahlúa (coffee liqueur)
1-2 cups confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
Preparing the Cake
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan, ensuring that all the nooks and crannies are well-coated to prevent sticking.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix and the instant chocolate pudding mix.
Add the eggs, vegetable oil, Kahlúa, vodka, water, and vanilla. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and the batter is smooth.
3. Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, spreading it evenly.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
5. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Making the Glaze
1. In a small bowl, whisk together the Kahlúa and confectioners' sugar until smooth and
well-combined.
2. Once the cake has cooled, place it on a serving platter and drizzle the glaze over the top,
allowing it to run down the sides of the cake.
