The joint Play Day with ALGA this year is on May 4, and the format will be a Step Back Scramble at Alto. Also, the AMGA Match Play event will be on May 25 and 26 at Alto. Registration for both events, and the other May Play Days, is open.
The 2022 Snowcapper member/guest golf tournament registration brochure and entry form will be emailed to all AMGA members on May 23, the week before Memorial Day. This year’s registration will be different than previous years. No teams will be “grandfathered in” from previous years. Entry forms must be completed and returned by mail, including tournament fees. The number of teams has been reduced to 96 this year and the AMGA Board recommends returning your entry form as soon as possible. Tournament dates will be August 2 – 4, with a practice round on August 1. The cost this year will be $700 per player and the format will be Shamble, Scramble, and Best Ball.
Golf joke of the month:
John was getting his annual physical. His doctor asked him about his physical activity level and John described a typical day.
“Well, yesterday afternoon, I took a five-hour walk about seven miles through some pretty rough terrain. I waded along the edge of a lake. I pushed my way through some trees and vegetation. I got sand in my shoes, eyes, and hair. I avoided stepping on a snake, and I climbed several rocky hills. The mental stress of it all left me shattered and at the end of it all, I drank eight beers.”
Inspired by the story, the doctor said, “You must be one hell of an outdoorsman!”
“No,” John replied, “I’m just a crappy golfer.”
