Alto Men’s Golf Association
The new ALGCC website went live on March 16. This update also included the AMGA golf association website. Please visit and browse the AMGA new website for the latest golf information. Both the 2022 ALGCC Master golf schedule and AMGA Play Day schedule are available on the AMGA website, along with the By-Laws, list of Board members and their positions, membership application and monthly minutes. To access, please go to the ALGCC Home Page, click on “More” located at the top right side, then Associations and scroll down to “AMGA.”
AMGA Play Days will continue each Wednesday this year beginning the first week in April and concluding in October, as the 2022 ALGCC Tournament/Event Master schedule permits. The cost for the Play Days will be $10. This $10, combined with an additional $7 per Play Day player supplemented by the AMGA budget, will be used to pay 40% of the field. Also, libations will be provided at both courses after all Play Days. A sign-up lunch sheet will be available as you check in if you would like to purchase lunch.
Golf Genius will be expanded this year for tournament and Play Day registration. All AMGA members should have received an Alto E-Minder on March 16, “Golf Genius Registration Letter” about the new registration process using Golf Genius. If not, please contact the administrative office and verify it has your correct email address on file. Play Day registration will be available 30 days prior to the Play Day event. Our first Play Day will be on April 6 at Outlaw, and the format will be ABCD. On April 13, we will be playing at Alto, and all holes will be converted to Par 3’s and will be individually flighted. Our third Play Day will be a Waltz, on April 27 at Alto. No Play Day on April 20, aeration both courses that week.
The 2022 Snowcapper member/guest tournament registration brochure and entry form will be emailed to all AMGA members on May 23, the week before Memorial Day. This year’s registration will be different than previous years. No teams will be grandfathered in from previous years. Entry forms must be completed and returned by mail, including tournament fees. The number of teams has been reduced to 96 this year and the AMGA Board recommends returning your entry form as soon as possible. The dates will be August 2 – 4, with a practice round on August 1. The format will be Shamble, Scramble, and Best Ball.
Please reference the Handicap committee’s policies and procedures in this month’s Avalanche for new 2022 guidelines.
Golf joke of the month:
Police are called to an apartment and find a woman holding a bloody 3-iron
standing over a lifeless man.
The detective asks, "Ma'am, is that your husband?"
"Yes," says the woman.
“Did you hit him with that golf club?”
"Yes, yes, I did." The woman begins to sob, drops the club,
and puts her hands on her face.
“How many times did you hit him?”
” I don't know… put me down for a five."
