Fall is approaching! Cooler mornings are definitely evident as we reach September. It was great to get all of that August rain as grass is growing at a fast pace! Our courses are looking spectacular as a result. September brings us one of our busiest tournament months of the year. We will kick things off with the AMGA Lonesome Pine on 9/6-9/8. We will have 80-90 teams this year, with the format being Shamble/Scramble/Best Ball; both courses will be used. We also have our first annual Couples’ Member-Guest tournament, which is named PARTY OF FORE! This will occur on 9/21-9/22, and the format is an aggregate team quota. The field will play both courses. In addition to these two events, we have several play days and various member tournaments to fill many of the days.
  
PACE OF PLAY!
In an effort to make all rounds of golf expedient and more enjoyable, I wanted to enlighten you with something that the USGA now endorses; and by all means, we will too! Traditionally we have always followed furthest away plays first. It is now acceptable to play ready golf! With 2200 plus memberships at our club, we should doing this without fail. Please see below. REMEMBER, GOLF IS PLAYED AHEAD OF YOU, NOT BEHINDYOU. IF THERE IS NO ONE AHEAD; YOU’RE BEHIND!

HOLE IN ONE REPORT: Dianna Gibson aced #17 at Alto with an 8-iron, witnessed by Betty Gentry. Ben McGraw, a guest of Wes Jackson, also had one on #17 using an attack wedge. Jerry Stokes had a hole in one on #3 at Alto, witnessed by Dale Campbell and Ken Harris. Congratulations to our sharp shooters!
