Warmer weather has arrived and with that, the golf courses are greening up, aeration has been completed, and the Alto driving range should open on May 2nd. The Alto Cup competition has kicked off and our playdays have had great participation in April, with 48 players the last two playdays. On April 12th, the team of Stewart Norman, Dan Allen, Bill Deane, and Clay Harris took first place in the Par 3 tournament. On April 26th, the team of Herb Goerner, Dan Allen, Greg Graham, and Jim Foreman took first place in the playday tournament. Plenty of fun was had by all, even with a 20-30 mph wind and cold temps. Playdays are open to all AMGA members with an optional lunch and free beer after play. Please come join us for the fun.
Our major tournament season is fast approaching, and we have sent out Snowcapper flyers and tournament sponsor letters to all our members. If you have not received your copy, please contact one of the AMGA Board members. The AMGA webpage on the ALG&CC website has been updated with all the changes to our Board this year. The main date to keep in mind is May 24th, this is when registration for our 49th annual Snowcapper Tournament will open at 4:00 pm. Please be ready with all your information for you and your partner. We will be sending out a sheet to help you prepare for your registration. Please make sure you have logged onto Golf Genius prior to the 24th to ensure you are in the system.
More and more people are coming back up here, and we look forward to seeing all our members up here very soon. With everything blooming and the courses turning to their beautiful green color, the true beauty of our neighborhood is on display. Please stay safe on your travels here and we will see you on one of our courses.
