Alto Men's Golf Association (AMGA)

The AMGA is dedicated to the promotion of organized tournaments and playdays for our members. The association currently includes more than 475 active members. Membership in the AMGA is available to all male golfing members of Alto Lakes Golf & Country Club who are in good standing with the club.

The AMGA Board meets the first Tuesday of the Month at 3:00pm in the Spencer Room.

Fill out the online application below, download the PDF, or obtain membership forms that are available in the Alto Office.  Membership forms should be submitted to Accounts Receivable for billing through your Alto membership account.

Mandatory Requirements to participate in the AMGA
  1. Must be 21 years of age or older.
  2. Have an AMGA golf membership in good standing.
  3. Pay the annual AMGA dues of $100 ($63.12 AMGA dues + $36.88 Sun Country Amateur Golf Association GHIN fee).
  4. Have an established GHIN handicap.

Event Schedules

AMGA Sponsors 4 Major Tournaments:

  1. AMGA Match Play May 25-26
  2. AMGA Club Championship July 17-19
  3. Member-guest, Snowcapper Tournament August 2-4
  4. Member-member, Lonesome Pine Tournament in September 6-8

AMGA Sponsors 20 Play Days:

  1. Play Days are “team” events with varying 18 hole formats held on Wednesday mornings, alternating between Alto Lakes and Outlaw golf courses
  2. Golfing events begin with Play Days in early April and end mid-November, weather permitting 
  3. Reservations to participate in Play Days can be made by 10am, the Tuesday  before Play Days, at the Alto Lakes Golf Shop or online using Golf Genius
  4. All events are played in accordance with USGA amateur rules
  5. All members are encouraged to participate in Play Days
  6. Play Days are a great way to meet fellow AMGA members

  2. Board members serve a 3 year term
  3. Board membership is a great way to help shape the future of the AMGA

Warmer weather has arrived and with that, the golf courses are greening up, aeration has been completed, and the Alto driving range should open on May 2nd.   The Alto Cup competition has kicked off and our playdays have had great participation in April, with 48 players the last two playdays.

That time of year is here; spring has arrived, it’s windy, and we are starting our first playday on April 5th at Outlaw.  Please come join us at all our playdays, if you can; it should be a fun and exciting year, with the Alto Cup competition being in place for the first time.

As I write this there is snow on the ground, so golf is on hold for several days.  I am looking forward to warmer days and more golf, as I am sure most of you feel the same way. The AMGA Board is continuing to work hard organizing and preparing for the upcoming golf season.
