Alto Men’s Golf Association
What a long, strange trip it’s been the last two years as president of the Alto Men’s Golf Association (AMGA). This line is a famous cliché today but was very true back in the 60’s and 70’s when the Grateful Dead sang about it in one of their more popular songs Truckin’. The AMGA is 526 members strong and coordinates the most prestigious golf tournament, Snowcapper, in New Mexico. It is also responsible for hosting the annual Folds of Honor golf tournament, which provides educational scholarships to American’s military families, and The First Tee golf program that teaches golf and life skills to youth golfers. Along with the bi-annual Divot Day, other fundraisers and local charities the AMGA sponsors each year you would think it would have been a great trip.
