Golf & Greens Commission (GGAC)

There shall be a Golf and Green Advisory Commission to review and advise the Board of Directors regarding all aspects of the golf course and golf operations. The Commission shall also review and advise the Board of Directors regarding the maintenance, repair and management of the golf course and grounds, Clubhouse landscaping, tournament schedule coordination, golf rules and regulation enforcement. ~ALGCC Bylaws

The mission of the GGAC is to work cooperatively with the ALGCC Board, Greens Superintendent, Director of Golf, Club Manager and the three golfing organizations to improve the Club’s most valuable asset: our golf courses and supporting facilities.

The GGAC meets regularly to develop/maintain a project inventory, complete project analysis via sub-committees, prepare project endorsements and formalize project recommendations, and implement administrative support such as tournament schedules and policy recommendations. If you have ideas or suggestions you would like the Commission to consider, simply contact any Commission member or attend one of the monthly meetings.

The Commission is composed of six at large members of the Club appointed by the President and approved by the Board, plus representatives of the ALGA, AL9GA, and AMGA and one non-voting Board liaison. The Director of Golf, the Golf Course Superintendent and the Club General Manager serve as ex-officio members. Commission members are limited to two consecutive three year terms.
Meetings are held at 9am on the first Friday of each month, and are open to all ALGCC members.
