"OO-la-la…" ALTA celebrated the French Open à la Gay Pa-ree!
"Bonjour, Y'all," proclaimed Paul's t-shirt, setting the theme for ALTA's annual French Open Soirée last month. In keeping with the French Open theme, corks popped and ALTA members munched and brunched on mini-quiches, chocolate croissants, madeleines, lemon tarts, and other exquisite pastries, artfully arranged by ALTA member Kandy Adams. "Très yummy!" was repeatedly echoed by partygoers.
Even if one's mastery of French was limited to "bonjour" and "merci,” all players got into "le spirit" of the game by sporting France's red/white/blue flag colors and playing several games with different partners against different opponents. Longtime resident and tennis player Allie said, "What a great kickoff to a fabulous season of tennis in the beautiful Sacramento Mountains. Loved reconnecting with old friends!"
Perhaps newcomers Brent and Melissa said it best, "This was our first Grand Slam tennis event and we both had the best time! Kudos to everyone who helped make it a great time. We enjoyed playing tennis but mostly getting to know new friends, as this is our first summer as members of Alto Lakes Golf and CC. We look forward to the next one!"
Now as the French say, "Au revoir, mes amis.” Indeed, "until the next time, my friends," when ALTA celebrates the Grandest of the Grand Slam events with Breakfast at Wimbledon, Saturday, July 9th.
